Cocoon simplifies and manages a wide range of leave types, ensuring employees receive the right coverage and benefits. The platform supports:

• Parental Leave for both birthing and non-birthing parents, including:

  • Birthing Parent Leave, including pregnancy-related medical conditions, recovery and bonding time

  • Non-birthing Parent Leave, including adoption and foster care leave (for parents welcoming a child through adoption or foster care)

• Medical Leave for employees who need time off for their own health conditions, including:

• Short-Term Disability (STD)

  • Serious illnesses or injuries

  • Surgery and recovery periods

• Caregiver Leave for employees who need to care for a family member with a serious health condition, including:

  • Spouses, domestic partners, children, parents, or other eligible dependents

• FMLA and State-Specific Leave: Cocoon helps navigate leave eligibility under:

• The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

• State-mandated paid and unpaid leave programs

Cocoon ensures that employees understand their leave options, file claims correctly, and receive the maximum eligible pay from all available sources while staying compliant with federal and state laws. 

1. Connect with HR

• Email HR@orchestraco.com to begin the process.

• HR will send you an intro email and a link to get started.

• Once you have access, log in to Cocoon and use the guided process to explore your leave options based on state and company policies.

2. Submit Your Claim – Cocoon will handle filing claims with Guardian, state agencies, and our payroll team on your behalf.

3. Track Your Pay – View a clear breakdown of payments, including contributions from state benefits, Guardian insurance, and Orchestra.

💡 Example: If you're taking parental leave, Cocoon will show exactly how your salary is covered from different sources and when you can expect payments.

The Manager Dashboard feature in Cocoon, allows managers to view and access leave information for their direct reports. 

Key Items to Note: 

• Managers can see submitted leaves, leave details (type, location, timeline, policies, payment status), and access the resource library.

• Cocoon will prioritize employee privacy and will avoid leaking early leave planning information.

• Managers receive email notifications when a direct report submits parental leave.

• There are currently no notifications for when an employee's manager changes.
